Even Under Grey Skies You Are Beautiful

Lisbon Day 4
Another wet morning so we headed out to LX Factory, an abandoned factory site converted to art shops, food stalls, bars and cafes. Unfortunately what we hadn’t appreciated was that most of the units didn’t open until 12 and it was only 10am! So we had a wander around to see the street art (main picture) before we headed back into town.

Back in Lisbon, we spent the rest of the morning exploring the up and down streets of the Bairro Alto area of town gradually heading back to our hotel and our packed suitcases ready for a cold and snowy Manchester.

We’ve had an amazing four days. Lisbon, you didn’t grace us with any sunshine, but even under grey skies you are beautiful. A faded, tired and unloved kind of beauty that shows a history of wealth and opulence. A bustling city of yellow trams, lots of steps, funiculars, a castle on a hill, balconies of every style, too much graffiti, cobbled streets, cobbled pavements, buildings of every colour and trees full of oranges even in January!
