Wind Chill Factor

Was a warm -1°C today but with the strong wind felt like -11°C.
Snow eventually arrived around 15:00 and is forecasted to stay a while. With the wind it's drifting nicely. Luckily Angie has holiday next week so won't have to cope with the traffic/train problems.
Not sure how she managed it but Angie took Flash & Luna out on a ride with Sultan while I pumped out around 75,000 liters of water from the cellar below the horse stables. It once held the heating sytem for greenhouses. There's a 30,000 liter oil tank as well! The cellar is no longer water tight so let it flood in spring so that we have a water reservoir in case of fire - the village fir brigade only have a small engine. In winter the danger is that by very low temperatures, the water freezes and then it really gets cold in the stable & can lead to the nearby ground, including our water pipes, freezing.
Probably snow blowing tomorrow!
