Moorhen, less speed

And the last in a short series of waterfowl on ice photos. Today it was Benbow Pond, which was still iced over although there wasn't much sign of any snow.  Our neck of the woods is still quite snowy today, however, but presumably this will all change tomorrow when the milder, damper weather moves in.

One thing I've noticed about moorhens and coots is that their feet are far better designed for walking on ice than those of other birds. So, although they may look a bit comedic, they have the last laugh as they make their way around effortlessly on the ice while other birds stumble and crash land all around.
