Late afternoon

Spaniels... do they swim? Bella (just about makes it into the frame) paddles, but rarely swims, unless it's shallow. The ball was out of reach, and she would have been out of her depth. So the ball floated up and down the river until hero Labrador (not in picture) jumped in to retrieve it. 

All in all, a pleasant hour spent by the river.
