the march of time

This is hubby's grandmother's clock that we inherited when she died 29 years ago at the ripe old age of 104. I find the constant tic toc very comforting. It also chimes every quarter hour, and of course lets out a loud bong bong for every hour.
My grandfather died when I was in grade school, and I chose to keep his old chiming mantle clock in my bedroom as I was growning up. So clearly, I love the sound of clocks. When we had a bigger house, both clocks could co-habitat, but once we downsized, my grandfather's clock was sent to my daughter's house to live. One can only stand so much marching of time!
