Spiggie Loch

Last of this years holiday days today and it was dry all day but very cold with North wind still with us.

This is Spiggie Loch which is a RSPB reserve. Whooper Swans bred here this year for the first time in about 70 years and there are still swans about at the moment as well as smaller numbers of wading birds. I'd like to say that the ripples on the left of the photo were a result of an otter escaping but it was just the dog trying to get in the photo! Had to crop her out.

Loch is full just now after the recent rain.

Sunrise today at 8:56 with sunset at 14:59
