Above Watendlath

Wednesday 6th February 2019 - LPH Day 3

We decided on a trip to Watendlath. First we went down to the waterfall, the devil's cauldron, which had lots of water in. We approached it from the other side of the river than usual so a different view. We then walked up the hill at the back of the tarn and just a little way back down the other side. The wide was very strong so it was difficult to keep the tripods steady, it also rained on and off, sometimes quite hard, so it was also difficult to keep the lens dry. Still a great day with some moody pictures.

On the way back we stopped at Ashness bridge and walked up for the over Derwentwater, where we were treated to a touch of sunshine and great crepuscular rays.
