gears of science

Busy day meeting various students and two of my GIS students from last year who started their own company. They are based in the Higgs Centre on Blackford Hill. I also met up with a fellow computing officer from physics. We went up the Eastern Tower and I took a multi shot image of the Reflector. The telescope doesn't work any more but still looks very impressive. Somehow the stitching produced an artifact. Need to redo it, also thinking it would be cool to open the roof. My colleague also showed me the lab where instruments for the observatory in Chile are built. Really cool stuff. Ah well, need to visit again.
