Twitching for Blippers

My patience was rewarded when I managed to capture this pair of Blippers who seemed to be blissfully unaware of my presence.

The male is on the left with his fluorescent plumage, his black head and the extra black ring on his beak.

The female is in her pink winter plumage and has a distinctive head tuft..

There is clear “lekking”behavior. The male is displaying the size of his beak and the contents of his lens bag but the female is feigning indifference.

After ninety minutes they left in opposite directions.
