Falcon's Return

We took a day off work today to finish off our Christmas shopping. We parted ways straight away and met back up for lunch. I only had a couple of bits to get so while the Eastgate shopping centre was quiet I thought this statue would make the perfect blip subject.

Bit of detail on the statue - "The Falcon's Return" larger than life-size statue cast in bronze by local artist, Leonie Gibbs.

Later addition as to why Inverness might have lots of Falcon related elements - "Falconry is the ancient art of hunting with Birds of Prey and it is practised throughout the Scottish Highlands. Falconry was at its most popular throughout the Middle Ages in the Scottish Highlands and the rest of the UK.

The majestic Scottish Highlands are the ideal locale for practicing the art of falconry. The sport of kings, knights, and nomads, falconry is still widely enjoyed by all ages in the Highlands"

A successful day of shopping though, our usual session at the gym and home for another Christmas film. So now the Christmas movie watched list is...

Fred Claus
Scrooged
Muppets Christmas Carol
Disney's Sing-a-long Very Merry Christmas Songs
Christmas with the Kranks
Noel
Nativity
Nativity 2 - Danger in the Manger!
The Santa Clause
Love Actually
