Reffee

Choppy sea just outside the QE2 marina, caught in a beautiful sunny moment today which gave the sea and Herm Island a lovely vibrance.

This is the marina where we kept our boat and Reffee was always a welcome site on our return from a trip.
Reffee beacon is a south cardinal bouy, anchored to the seabed and it means that safe water can be found to the south of the buoy.
The two cones at the top point down to illustrate it is a South cardinal.
The black and yellow paint scheme on the bouy also indicates which of the four bouy's (N,S,E or W) you are looking at.
I think  this is pretty much an international standard, except in N America where they have their own system.
