Oakham Castle

Bit of a wet windy day so we decided to go into Oakham we have been before several years ago. This time we visited the Castle really a Saxon great hall and the first time royalty visits the county of Rutland they present the county with a horseshoe and they are hung in the Castle. There was a very good guide who helped us to understand it all. He recommended the museum just up the road which was also very good. The museum had a community cafe where we had a bit of lunch, very good value.
Don’t think we will go far the rest of the day.
