Gary Schneider - Green Tambourine (1979)
I made this album in 1979.  I'm still very much alive and living in Alameda.  Glad that I had a good 35  year run in the organ bar business.  It's a dead horse now.  Also glad that I saved my money and bought real-estate.  The device I used for the talking guitar was the SONOVOX.  It was invented by Gilbert Wright in about 1938 and used in the movies and on old time radio.  I still prefer the Lemon Pipers version of the song......I was just having fun. - Gary Schneider

Gary Schneider was a Lounge Organist/Entertainer, Originally from the Midwest, He had a long time gig at the Driftwood Lounge (now the Hob-Nob) in Alameda CA. Physically he was extremely tall and physically had trouble fitting behind an Organ Console. His legs not being able to fit under the manuals, he played the Pedals from the Back End (he could not reach the sharps without getting a Charlie Horse), limiting his choice of keys he played in. He was an early advocate of Auto Transpose. Listening to this cut, the Baldwin "Pro" Organ, the Analog Drum Machine, The Vocoder, this session is probably from the Mid-Late 1970s. - Craig Browning
