Awe

We managed once again to get out for our walk while the sun was shining, although it started to rain on the ride home and remained grey for the rest of the day. There was some kind of low-key surfing competition going on at Steamer's Lane--only one tent, and no loudspeakers (thank goodness), just a bunch of eager kids having a good time.

This afternoon's treat was a concert by a local trio, the Sister Brothers, who sing old-time American music in close harmony--Appalachian folk songs, vintage bluegrass and haunting ballads. I wish I could offer you a link to their performance, but I don't think there are any. They do not use any amplification, and can be heard quite nicely in a very large room of spellbound quiet people. I wish there were more offerings like this in our busy noisy world.
