Fresh……

……………..…..Sea Air

The breeze was brisk, but the water was still very warm when we went for a swim soon after high tide at the Motueka Beach this afternoon.

On the point near the channel which goes past the fishing platform and wharf and on into the Moutere Estuary this ‘fisherman’ was one of several hoping to hook a fish.

Many thanks to everyone who checked out both photos I uploaded to Blip yesterday. I appreciate the comments, stars and hearts for both. Thank you.

Day six of the Pigeon Valley Fire, Tasman/Nelson, NZ
-The civil defence reported a productive day with less wind than forecast.
-Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ) carried out a successful controlled burn-off operation around Redwood Valley, which will offer protection to that area should the wind shift to the South again.
-Firebreaks were widened for increased protection and there is now a complete control line around the fire perimeter.
-The area of the fire is 2325 hectares with a perimeter of 27km.
-Four areas are still prepared and on standby in case evacuation is required
-A total fire ban is in place for Nelson & Tasman and an emergency directive was issued to prohibit activities that could increase the risk of fire - which includes machinery around the home so no lawn mowing, although most lawns are turning brown through limited watering at the moment.
-A state of emergency is still in place.
