Derelict castle

We live less than twenty minutes from Torwood castle but had never visited it until today.

However, in pursuit of Blipfoto Derelict Sunday we set off.

Situated near Larbert it is off the beaten track and involves a fair walk up a dirt tack.

Built in 1566 it is claimed to be in the process of restoration though there was scant evidence of this taking place.

We met a young man with his son on a trip down memory lane.  (See extra photo)

His grandfather was the gamekeeper for the estate.

“Its twenty five years since I played here, “he said. `’Today I have brought my son back to the same place.”

Thanks to  Marlieske ( Netherlands)   for hosting Derelict Sunday.
