Gone but not forgotten

Sir Francis Egerton, the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater left more than offspring behind. It's argued that the Bridgrwater canal helped drive the industrial Revolution and is still used by working boats and leisure craft I took a walk with a local group today at a higher speed than my usual amble and saw both the canal and this memorial fountain on Worsley green. Very tired feet now and convinced that there is something of the sacrificial alter about the structure. It was made from the bricks of Worsley Yard after all. Extras show the rest of the green and the biggest swan I've ever seen!
