cabbage aliens

i took a pic of this about a week ago just when the purple silk was beginning to emerge.
now here it is in all its glory, taken with flash in the dark.
nature is amazing.
ps also took some pics of my fave fritillaries and found big red bugs all over them munching away in the dark. sneeky things!
