Time to say Goodbye

Over the Christmas period we made the difficult but sensible decision to give up our holiday home at Abersoch.
It’s an area of Wales l love very much and we had been there many times before we bought our caravan with Rebecca and Mike.
At the end of the season last year l don’t think it had occurred to me that we wouldn’t be back this year but situations change and you have to go with them.
Nothing lasts forever.
So today we took ten years of possessions out of the caravan (and you do build up a lot of stuff over that time!)
Surfboards, wet suits, rattan outdoor furniture, huge BBQ , very large parasol, bedding for all seasons and the full range of items that are needed to have a home from home.
We decided to put everything in the hired transit instead of sorting it all out there.
It’s now mostly residing in Rebecca ‘s garage and it will be disposed of tomorrow.
Some to keep, some to throw away, some for the charity shop and other organisations that will make use of them.
Lots of happy memories of all those special times that will never go away and we both had a tear in our eye and a lump in our throat as we left for the last time.

Photograph taken this morning after sunrise as we drove from the Travel Lodge into Abersoch.
Even on my last day the beautiful light there didn’t let me down.

Van returned and we are now home, it’s been a long day so it may take until tomorrow to catch up with your journals x
