A day in the life

Playday

Today developed into a music day. In the morning I met up with two fellow musicians to prepare for some sort of concert later in spring. A male singer, a violinist and myself are planning an acoustic moment for people to gather energy and hope to continue their day in a bit more uplifted mood. It's going to be a program with Swedish lyrics, mostly probably chosen from our own generations repertoar. We're still just looking at possible suggestions, quite a fun period.

There was a lot of sitting down in the morning so in the afternoon I took a walk in the, right now, spring like weather. Lovely. And some yoga on top.

In the evening I went to Kalmar castle to listen to a concert with our own professional String orchestra "Camerata Nordica", a very competent group of musicians. Tonight the program contained music by Beethoven, Turina and Chopin. Each concert the ensemble invite a soloist and a musical director to compose an interesting and challenging program together with the Camerata ensemble. This time a young Chinese pianist, Mélodie Zhao played Frederic Chopins second piano concerto and a rhapsody for piano and string ensemble by Joaquin Turina. She was excellent and virtuos in her interpretation of the pieces and her mission is to spread her musical world to young people, you can see her on Youtube. Musical director for tonight was a violinist from Scotland, Colin Scoble who was leading in a very gentle, discrete way that gave the orchestra freedom to express themselves. The extra shows the beginning of the piece, if you are standing where mr Scoble is standing. Refreshing day all in all.
