A favourite

A Curlew. I have blipped it before but as it is one of my top ten birds I shall probably blip it again. They remind me of my childhood walks on Ilkley and Baildon Moors. I can hear that wonderful call in my imagination.

I find it interesting that the wading birds seem to have their own favoured section of the shoreline. The Redshank patrols a hundred yard section nearest to the village and the Curlew prefers to be further west towards the Coastguard Station. The Gulls, however, treat all of it as though it was their private property.

Although I enjoyed the walk it was a modest one today done in fine drizzle. It is good to be back inside with some Redberry tea and a biscuit.
