Lenten rose (Helleborus orientalis)

The name Helleborus comes from the Greek words helle meaning to take away, and bora which means food. It refers therefore to the emetic properties of the plant.

That’s ok, I wasn’t intending to eat it anyway.

I don’t think I can count this is my spring blooms count as I’ve slready blipped one, but just a different colour.

It was wonderfully sunny today so I exercised partly outside in the garden (and partly on our new stepper/cross trainer).
