Rain

I did get out for a quick walk by the ocean, but the rest of the day was spent by the fire, watching zentangle videos and drawing. That's how hard it was raining. I had a good view of the magnolia tree out the corner window, and I watched the enormous flock of robins that has descended on the neighborhood over the past few days. I had no idea robins travelled in such large groups, and wonder if they are on their way somewhere and got waylaid by the storm. They favor the tops of the highest trees, and fill the yard with singing. Suddenly someone gives a signal and they scatter, switching trees, zooming down into the weeds looking for food.

Luckily we humans have the luxury of staying put right now. Flooding and mudslides and careless drivers are all causing a mess on the roads.
