The Lake of Love, Bruges

Took this picture of Minnewater, to give it's correct name , on the way back to the station to catch the train home. It takes its nickname from the Dutch word for love (minaar), but apparently the name really derives from the ancient Germanic word, minne, for an elf or sprite from the time when the whole area was oak woodland and popular with Druids. Whatever the derivation, it is particularly romantic when illuminated at night.
