The Weald of Kent

A typically Kentish rural scene. Oast houses and a church. This is the church of St Margaret which is grade I listed and bits date back to the early 14th century. It's Horsmonden parish church even though it's a couple of miles from the village and closer to Goudhurst - that's where I took this shot. A handful of Jane Austen's relatives, including her grandfather, are buried in the churchyard.

After I'd grabbed this I drove round and passed the church and the oast houses and through Horsmonden which is famous locally as an accident blackspot. Less of an issue today as roadworks are clogging up the village.
