Paddling

A cracking morning so I took a walk down to sunny Leith, giving my newest hiking shoes an inaugural outing. (As usual one fits better than the other, the joy of mismatched feet.) Nice to see lots of young kids out on bikes and scooters, leaving mums, dogs and stroller-bound siblings in their wake. Different kind of wildlife on the Water of Leith; lots of mallards, a fair number of swans and dozens of goosanders, never seen so many. No coots though and just a solitary moorhen. Maybe they've moved upriver.
Resisted the pull of a pub lunch and instead grabbed a welcome coffee and toastie before heading round to Ocean Terminal. Jings but they're building houses on both sides of the road there, I thought nothing was ever going to come of those plans. Might give a welcome boost to the shops in Ocean Terminal though, if there are any left by the time the houses are finished!
Enough walking, got a bus back.
