tempus fugit

Green and pleasant?

A beautiful day to work outside, or to snuffle up some sheep poo, if you happen to be a dog.

Throughout the day I was following the Climate Strike events and demonstrations unfolding across the UK. I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed such a hopeful and  inspiring sight as all these thousands of young people, from primary school age and upwards, walking out of their schools, whether with or without the permission of their parents and teachers, to express their concern for the future of the planet - their future. If one 15 year old girl, Greta Thunberg, can set this in motion, maybe the combined weight of all these young people can begin to slow and reverse the world's descent into the poisoned shade.

For anyone who isn't sure whether school strikes are such a good idea I recommend reading this short piece in favour of young people  taking action or the letter by 224 academics also supporting the strike.
