Alternate required

Driving home in the Mog on Thursday and the CD player stopped and the ammeter and charging light both said that something bad had happened.

Pored over the wiring diagrams yesterday and sussed out the relationship between the alternator, control box, alternator relay and warning light.

Had a look this morning and found that the reality was a lot simpler - the control is all internal to the alternator. So there are only two wires.

Hoiked it out and took it along to Kev’s at Car Spares. I’ll pick up another Lucas alt next week.
