The end of a good day

Called round to see the kittens this morning, only to find that Freya and Mara are now Finn and Floki. They were taken to the vet to be spayed and found to be males!  A bit of a surprise for their owners, but a much cheaper neutering cost.  We watched them having great fun with a couple of cardboard boxes while we caught up over coffee and biscuits.  Very entertaining - much better than TV!

Off to help H with the ponies in the afternoon, sorting out fencing, mucking out, general things and then exercising a couple who haven't been ridden recently.  Great fun - a lot of work getting them being steady and sensible and some jumping.  

In the evening we were invited to Bob and Mo's 60th wedding anniversary party in the Murray Arms pub in the Hope.  Very generously they had invited about 40 folk to a huge buffet - everything from lobster to trifle - and endless wine flowing, and transport home for those who wanted it.  The little Yorkshire puds topped with roast beef and horseradish sauce were particularly tasty!  Excellently well organised, right down to the "diamonds" sprinkled on the tables and pieces of the beautifully decorated cake to take home in little boxes.  A super evening, very relaxed and great to see everyone having a great time.  A really enjoyable evening.
