Piwakawaka.

Piwakawaka,
With his fantail  fluttering,
Flitting here and there.


Because of the shape of the tail we call this  bird a fantail. The Maori name is piwakawaka  which gives a sense of it's constant movement. This does make them quite difficult to photograph. They often follow people hoping to find insects that may have been disturbed.
