Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life

Having completed the first 2000 blips with a collage, what better way to start the next 2000. Thanks for the good wishes for the achievement: I really enjoy taking pictures and whilst my heart really loves landscape I’m more often in the urban environment sadly. Today we went to Drumpellier Country Park near Coatbridge for orienteering and then onto Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life to have a look around. This is a museum on the site of the old Summerlee iron works, and is free to visit. The area around here was very industrial and must have been a hellish place in which to live and work; 12 hour days, 6 days a week for very little pay. The blip is part of a collage in the centre showing the life of the workers; we have improved in many ways.
