Waxwing swarm over Leith

We were watering the guerrilla garden in bright, if chilly, sunshine when suddenly a flock of over 30 birds descended in a swarm, jumping and fluttering about the spindly branches of the young trees and gobbling up berries noisily and very happily. It was quite something. Managed to get a couple of pretty poor photos but enough to get them identified as Waxwings via the magic of Facebook (by veteran Blipper Jon Davey no less). So, not a great pic but it has to be my blip for today because it was such an extraordinary and special thing to witness. There are berries left so I hope they come back.
