Manic Monday.

The spring-like weather we are having has given rise to a feeling of wanting to do some spring-cleaning.
In whatever capacity it happened to give rise to this morning,
I decided to "sort out" the wardrobes.
So black bin bags at the ready I began. Needless to say there was SO much stuff all over the beds or draped over the landing bannister rail that it was almost lunchtime before any semblance of order was apparent!
Eventually there were so many redundant clothes hangers that most of them ended up in the household wheelie bin  which is parked at the end of our drive alongside the recycling wheelie bin.
Our Birmingham City Council refuse collectors are on strike  and likely to do so ad infinitum at the moment.
So the bins are permanently parked out in the streets. Some are overflowing bags and stuff for recycling.
They started  a work to rule over a year ago and although intermittently it seemed to be resolved, these days we never know when the bins will be emptied.
Hubby periodically goes down to the local tip.
When he went up to the gym after lunch he took two filled  bags with him. One for the local Clothes Bank at the supermarket car park and one to the local Hospice shop.
Late afternoon I had a French session here with two of my friends and our tutor. Always fun. We had been translating a topical article. Interesting to see the way each of our translations differed!
I had mopped the kitchen floor earlier and emptied the washing machine. So it's now time to watch Connect Four and University Challenge.
I took the photo at 17.55 pm this evening as it was not quite dark. There was a blackbird singing outside in the dusk.
