Niki de Saint Phalle

The papier mache sculpture in the photo was my daughter art project in year 7 (she is currently in year 11). She chose to study Niki de Saint Phalle. 

She was a French-American artist, sculptor and filmmaker who died in 2002. I think she loved the voluptuous models and the vibrant colours. We both thought this was copied really well and it was displayed in the school entrance area. At the end of the year she brought it home and I have kept it on our shelf ever since. It is usually a talking point to anyone new who comes to our house!
