Back Alley

Back from Berlin via Amsterdam.

We arrived home at 10 and were in bed not too long later.

Berlin was an amazing, refreshing experience and we have come back with the rest of half term stretching out (an exaggeration) before us.

Son 2 and I walked over to Clifton to collect the dog who was vaguely keen to see us. He's not a big one for showing affection but he has his way.

A good walk home and a bit of Dad and son chit chat about the world. I often feel I'm being  a bit dull and should have a reservoir of fascinating conversation and life lessons to share but Son 2 is politely not bothered.

What to do for the next few days? Borrowed Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada to read, there's a garden to tidy, there's a road bike to sort, there's a Chartered College of Teaching research report to type up, there's a scheme of learning to plan, there's, there's.....

Now poncing about on the Mac editing the Berlin photos and listening to Rob Newman talk about philosophy - he makes you work hard for your listening pleasure.

Oh, and this is a back alley in this area. I love them. They seem unchanged and full of interest. I think there's a natural human curiosity to see the bits that you are not meant to see - think Natural Trust servant's quarters, old abandoned buildings, the bits of the world that are not designed to be public facing... I'm going on... I shall stop.
