Tracks and Late Light

Wonderful to be out towards the end of the day with raking low light. Not too cold either at just about freezing, with the snow crunching underfoot and birds flying through the trees.

Loved the patch of sunshine poking around the back of the dark trees and the animal tracks leading across the snow filled marsh.

I think getting lower to the ground with a wider lens would have emphasised the tracks in the snow further and possibly helped with the depth of field. I think the trees are a bit soft.

I found this rather difficult to edit. Getting the balance between the cold foreground and warm sunlit areas was tricky, trying to equalise the exposure and temperature settings, yet keeping it looking believable. I think the distant trees not being sharp makes it difficult to adjust those bright areas without loosing detail.
