Crocus in wasteland

In the Linda Vista Gardens, Abergavenny, we, the Friends, have been clearing a large bank of years of accumulated neglect over the last months, like brambles and ivy and holly and saplings of any tree seed that happened to land and crisp packets. And all these crocuses carry on undaunted, fragile creatures that they are, apparently unbruised by the icy winds of winter (or which there aren't any recently). Plucky little chaps.
