Look What Fluttered by my Window

21st Feb - I didn't expect to see this land in my garden. Obviously woken early from hibernation by the warm spell it will struggle to find food as flowers are still not in evidence.

For the curious, this is a Peacock Butterfly, Aglais io
For the technical, I have lightened the underwings to make the detail visible. In reality, it appears almost black ('extra' - straight out of camera).
