To Bishnoi Village

We left Jojawar today and headed off on the four hour approx journey to Bishnoi Village Resort. An uneventful journey thankfully. The resort comprises of 'old' houses - round ones made from cattle dung and mud with grass thatched roofs. The locals no longer live in these as the gov gave some money to villagers to build more substantial brick homes but this resort is keeping the tradition alive.  They are small, but comfortable and they have private facilities with a private area to sit outside.
In the afternoon we went on a Jeep ride to see wild life. We were very lucky and saw black buck, gazelles and even a Nilgai (extra).  We found a lake with many migrating birds including demoiselle cranes and flamingos.  Several local kids came to practice their English with us - quite funny really as they ask your name and then your age!  We have been having great fun elaborating how old we are!  The cranes got spooked and flew off - a wonderful sight.
After visiting the wild life area we went to the artisan shops - saw a Dhurri weaver at work and he showed us some fo the co-op pieces of work - amazingly beautiful; then we went to visit a block printer who did a small demonstration of how he works - a good shopping opportunity here and we both succumbed; then we had a potter demonstrate how to make pots so all in all a very good late afternoon!
Supper at the Resort tonight was the first really genuine Indian meal we have enjoyed. It was delicious and rather amusing as the owner stayed close to ensure we did the correct thing like putting ghee on our chapatis etc.
After dinner we were treated to a music show. Delightful day.
