Reminders of 23/7

Being in Rafina I had to see a part of the land just outside that little city, there where 5 months ago a firestorm raged over Mati and Kokkini Limani. I'd passed from here a few days after that hellish disaster and remembered the images I put up here. The land has recovered again and many of the blackened trees live still, but not all.
Dirt is often cleared away, but not the skeletons of the houses, nor the plastic greenhouse that shows so evidently how fast the firestorm passed by ~ the plastic wasn't all consumed even by the fire and it's a reminder that show how speedy the fireblaze went by... A 100 people lost their lives, many of them the young and old; grandparents and their grandchildren, as in Mati and Kokkini Limani many families from Athens had their Summerhouse there and the parents of the young and children of the old were mostly at work in Athens city.
Such tragedies happened here. The impact of this sad history was also discussed yesterday by my friends as indirectly they're affected too.
