Lindis Pass

I drove over the Lindis Pass today, on my way from Christchurch to my daughter’s home in Arrowtown.
The weather has definitely turned more winter, with lots of rain today some hail and strong wind. Maybe we’ve had the best of the long hot summer.
The Pass looked so beautiful with all the golden tussocks flowering, but they’re very dry - it’s a worry.
I’m going to meet up with a friend at Lake Hawea on Tuesday, and we’re going to walk with the Cavalcade, an annual event, run over 5 days by the Otago Goldfields Heritage Trust. Initially for horses & carts, it’s allowed for walkers for several years, and now includes bikers.
Hope the weather improves. There’s snow on the tops tonight.
