Purple crocuses

Beautiful spring day today. We had a slow get up and then went to take the glass to the recycling bank and then walk on to the shops.

This expanse of purple crocuses had been planted by the local rotary club to raise awareness of polio vaccination and the campaign to eradicate this awful disease across the globe. They looked beautiful in the bright sunshine.

Tackled the ironing pile after lunch and then made a lasagne for tea. It is cooking now and looked amazing before I put it in the oven. I'm hoping it will stay in the dish and not bubble over too much as it is rather huge.

Couldn't find any newts in the pond tonight. I wonder if it has got a bit cold given the clear skies today. We've had frogspawn by the end of February before now.
