Het Schip (The Ship) in Amsterdam

The building is much larger, but my photos don't do it justice. Apparently it is ship shaped (though I didn't really see that), hence the name. It consists of many houses and a museum on the other side. Built early 20th century as a project of good proper housing for the labourers in Amsterdam. There was money available for cheap and proper housing and architects who enjoyed designing large estates with many houses. Built in a fun way. In a style called "Amsterdam School". Throughout Holland in the twenties and thirties of the previous century housing, schools and other buildings were built in this style.

Today we visited this interesting museum. It hosted a Gaudi exhibition with some models of his designs and some furniture he designed. The exhibition in itself was not overly interesting.
