Mexico City Traffic

Our brief trip to Mexico City has been extended due to the ineptitude of the US Embassy. We scheduled an 11:00 appointment to get our documents notarized and were the first people in line this morning. Our return bus to Zihuatanejo left at 12:30. A hour and a half should have been plenty of time for a three minute process. The only problem was, the notary didn't even show up until after noon while we sat waiting and watching a half dozen employee's do absolutely nothing. We missed our bus and were forced to buy new tickets for an overnight ride home. It did, however, give us a few hours to wander the city. We have long heard horror stories of Mexico City traffic. This afternoon we got see firsthand the congestion on the cities major thoroughfares. One man's nightmare is another's opportunity as this vendor aptly demonstrates while walking the rows of cars. The only issue occurs when a motorcycle, or two, decides to use the spaces between lanes as a pathway. I imagine only the quickest vendors survive.
