Archbishops Palace

Another glorious springlike February day. Cloudless blue skies from sunrise to sunset. We’ll be paying for this at sometime in the future.

Had the morning at home doing a bit of stuff then took Doreen for another perambulation along the banks of the River Medway in the opposite direction from last Sunday. Between us we pushed the wheelchair over 6 miles, admittedly on the flat.

The Archbishop’s Palace seen here is one of Maidstone’s more redeeming features having stood guard over this part of the river for over 600 years. Built originally as a place for archbishops to stay on their way from London to Canterbury it is now mainly used as a registry office.
