RPS DIG Selection

We had a good day at the Digital Imaging Group's AGM, Exhibition Selection and Lecture by Irene Froy. Once the AGM was out of the way the prints were selected for this year's exhibition. Everybody enters 3 prints and has just one selected for the exhibition. There are 3 selectors and they decide between them which print is selected. When that is done the selectors then choose their favourite 30 prints and these are the ones which are exhibited at venues where only a small proportion of the prints can be shown. At other venues all the selected prints will be displayed. Then each selector chooses 2 prints for which they award a ribbon and they also choose an overall winner who is awarded the Chairman's Cup. My blip shows about half of the top 30 prints and I was pleased to have my entry among them. I wasn't lucky enough to have an award though.

The five print on the top row show 4 of those awarded ribbons and also the overall winner. My print is the one on the middle row on the left.

It is always good to see a lecture by Irene Froy who showed her pastel prints.  I also had time to chat to friends who had travelled from various parts of the country, including blipper Sue Hutton and Wendy (aka Viewpoint).

All in all a good day, apart from having to drive home in fog and in the dark. We broke our journey to have fish and chips at the Wetherby Whaler and eventually arrived home at 9 pm.
