Industrial Past

I visited a very local museum to my part of the world today - Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke-on-Trent. A great place to photograph and inspired by my recent trip to the Lakes. I just felt like a change of location than my usual haunts.

It has a special significance to me as my granddad worked here when it was a working pottery. He packed the finished ware into wooden barrels with straw.

It''s the only location in the Potteries with the most standing bottle ovens. These were the kilns which were used to fire the pottery.
