Jodhpur

We took a cab to Jodhpur today for a city experience after all our country living.  It was my second visit so we opted not to go to the fort but just enjoy the ambience of the Clock Tower area and the vegetable, material  and the spice markets.  So much noise, so many people!  Wonderful fun.  As we were watching groups bartering for items we saw this elephant on its way to the fort, beautifully painted.  There were several horses with carts (we resisted a ride) and this one was impatient for some food. Another lovely day out. The city is undergoing a lot of regeneration and there are some very smart (expensive) shops opening up. We had a lovely lunch in a beautiful old Haveli, near the step well (extra) which was frequented by many nationalities. There were a lot of lads swimming in the step well - the water did not look too clean but they did not seem to care!
