The Kings Mill

Great Shelford mostly built in the 17 & 18 century's but there is a mill mentioned here in the Domesday Book. I remember going to collect pig feed here with my grandad during or just after the war. It was purchased by Sir Leslie Martin famous architect and converted to a big office and living accommodation in the early 60s I worked on the left hand end in the mid 60s converting an old derelict section into a separate house
Have a look at the extras as the last miller was a Mr Pearce and his daughter was Philippa who wrote Tom's Midnight Garden.
This afternoon we went to our favourite pie man then to have a look at Great Fen nature reserve which was a bit disappointing.
