'New Growth'

Another early morning blip before the sun scorched everything again today.

Last night was our warmest December overnight minimum since 2003 with the mercury not dropping below 24 degrees. Today was another scorching ht day of around 37 degrees, but then a storm blew through late this afternoon and cooled things down to around 20 again (nice).

This new growth is coming out of the base of a gum tree that got blown over in a storm about 6 months ago and is just out the back of our house. I love the shape of it's leaves and the soft colours. I have desaturated all of the colours except the reds, oranges and yellows and quite like d the effect this gave, so this is it.

Late home tonight as we've been to a good friends house for dinner to celebrate his 61st birthday. There were only about a dozen close friends there and it was a fun night.
